Yogyakarta, October 8, 2024 – Garrya Bianti Yogyakarta has donated IDR 30 million to the Indonesian Cancer Foundation DIY Branch, raised during the “Run For Hope” event held on September 7, 2024, at Tip Tap Toe. This charity run was attended by over 700 runners from Yogyakarta and beyond, all uniting to support this noble cause. The funds collected will be used to help build a dedicated ward for childhood cancer survivors at the Indonesian Cancer Foundation DIY Branch complex. Currently, the construction process is 20% complete and is expected to finish by February 2025. This ward will serve as a shelter for children undergoing treatment at RSUP Dr. Sardjito, and it will also be equipped with adequate play and educational facilities.

The “Run For Hope” event was supported by various sponsors who contributed to its success, including Tip Tap Toe, Bank BRI, Mind.id, Bank Mandiri, BCA, Permata, OCBC, Bakpia Juwara Satoe, and many others. Their contributions not only ensured the success of the event but also emphasized the importance of community involvement in healthcare initiatives. The event was further enlivened with various activities aimed at raising awareness and fostering solidarity for young cancer fighters.

Dyah Suminar Zudianto, Chairperson of the Sasana Mardi Husada YKI Shelter, stated, “We greatly appreciate the tremendous support from Garrya Bianti Yogyakarta, all participants of Run For Hope, and all the sponsors. This donation will mean a lot in the construction of the dedicated ward for childhood cancer survivors, aiding them in their healing process.”

“We are honored to contribute to the construction of this children's ward. We are committed to continuing to support initiatives that benefit the community and hope to engage more people in our future events,” said Ridwan Heriyadi, GM of Garrya Bianti Yogyakarta, shortly after the donation handover at the YKI DIY Branch secretariat office.
