"Run For Hope" Charity Running Event, a Caring for Pediatric Cancer Survivors
Yogyakarta, September 8, 2024. Garrya Bianti Yogyakarta in collaboration with Tip Tap Toe held a sports charity titled “Run For Hope”, on September 8, 2024. 700 enthusiastic runners ran happily while sharing for children with cancer. Run For Hope will start and finish at Tip Tap Toe on Jalan Palagan at 05.45 WIB. Running enthusiasts will be invited to cross the 7-kilometer route with rural roads in the north Jogja area.
Run For Hope gets support from various parties such as BRI and Mind.id and many other sponsors. All profits from the event will certainly be delivered to help build a shelter for pediatric cancer patients at the Indonesian Cancer Foundation (YKI) DIY.
The event was opened with a flag-off ceremony by the Deputy Regent of Sleman, Danang Maharsa who released 700 runners. Danang Maharsa expressed his appreciation for the organization of Run For Hope, in which all event profits are donated to the Indonesian Cancer Foundation. According to Danang, this is very interesting and a positive spirit to help each other.
“This event is extraordinary, where all the profits from the event are given to the Indonesian Cancer Foundation DIY to help build a shelter. We appreciate Garrya Bianti and Tip Tap Toe for initiating this event. Hopefully, participants can enjoy running in Sleman and donate to help others,” said Danang.
Ridwan Heriyadi, General Manager of Garrya Bianti Yogyakarta said, that as a resort that pays attention to holistic well-being, Garrya Bianti Yogyakarta wants to invite everyone to live a healthy life by running. Not only that, by participating in “Run for Hope” Garrya Bianti Yogyakarta wants to provide a more comprehensive picture so that people care more about cancer survivors.
“We are committed to donating all profits from this Run For Hope event to the Indonesian Cancer Foundation DIY Branch. This is a form of encouragement for those who are battling cancer,” said Ridwan.
The collaboration with Tip Tap Toe, Garrya Bianti's sister company, is a form of synergy to enliven the event.
“The racepack collection was held at Garrya Bianti, then for the start and finish venue at Tip Tap Toe. We are grateful that 700 participants registered and have run to share,” he continued.
Chief Organizer of Run For Hope, Winda Sukma, added that the participants wore jerseys specifically designed to encourage cancer survivors. This time, the jersey also featured pictures made by cancer survivors under YKI Yogyakarta. Participants also received finisher medals as a form of appreciation for running together in this event.
“We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported this event. Thank you for the good energy. Hopefully, all runners can have a different experience and be entertained by the series of events we have prepared, ranging from pound sessions and live DJs to Doorprize,” he continued.
